My Pokemon Journey-A New Rival!

Morning came, Meg and me continued our way through the forest. "Why was that Seviper attacking you?" I asked softly.

"I'm not sure. Tepig and I were training when it came out of no where..", replied Megan. "If you don't mind me asking, how come you didn't have Tepig attack it before?" I asked.

Megan hesitated. "Truth is...I'm terrified of Sevipers. Whenever I see one I get paralyzed in fear...but when I saw how you were trying to save me and being hurt by it...I snapped out of it", explained Megan.

"You did seem really scared...don't worry. If another one shows up, I'll protect you", I said. Megan smiled. "But what's weird is Seviper are never seen in Kanto unless owned by a trainer", I said.

Charmander suddenly looked alert. "Charmander?" I asked. "Char!" cried Charmander, he ran toward the left. Meg and me followed him.

We then saw a pokemon. It was a Vulpix, but something was wrong. She was tied to a tree, clearly abandoned.

"Poor girl! Someone left her!" cried Megan. "Who would do such a thing?" I asked. "Vul!" cried Vulpix weakly.

I pulled out my pokedex. "Vulpix. The Fox pokemon. It controls balls of fire. As it grows, its six tails split from their tips to make more tails", explained the pokedex.

"It is a fire type...", I said. "You only want to catch fire types right?" asked Megan. "Yeah mostly", I replied.

"Try catching her, she seems in a weak state", said Megan. I nodded. I pulled out a pokeball. I threw it, it hit Vulpix and she went inside.

The pokeball shook rapidly and Vulpix came back out. "Whoa...that's weird", said Megan. Charmander went over.

"Char! Charmander!" said Charmander to Vulpix. "Vul! Vul!" cried Vulpix. "Charmander, what did she say?" I asked.

"Char! Charmander! Char!" explained Charmander. "What's he saying Bri?" asked Megan. "He says that Vulpix is waiting for her trainer to come get her", I replied.

"Really? I wonder how long her trainer will take", said Megan worriedly. "We better find a place to camp, and come back at sunset to see if she's still here", I suggested.

Megan nodded. We left and found a spot. Megan released her pokemon. Tepig was already out. Samurott, Servine, Emogla, Zoroua and Staraptor appeared. "Whoa! Most of them are Unova", I said.  

"Yep, but Staraptor is Sinnoh", replied Megan. Sunset soon came and we noticed it was getting dark. We saw the Vulpix was still in the same spot.

"I don't know Bri...I'm getting the feeling this Vulpix was abandoned", said Megan softly. "Vul", said Vulpix.

Suddenly, we heard s slithering noise. I blinked. "What..was that?" asked Megan. Out of no where, a Seviper appeared out of the grass.

"Se...VIPER!" yelled Seviper. Megan and me ran on either side. Seviper hissed and eyed Megan, who was frozen in terror. "MEGAN! Move!" I yelled but she was shaking bad.

"Charmander! Help Megan!" I cried throwing my pokeball. Charmander appeared. "Char Char!" cried Charmander, he stood between Megan and Seviper. Tepig joined Charmander.

I ran off and held Megan who was shaking. Tepig used Fire Blitz on Seviper. Charmander growled and used a new move then, Flamethrower.

"Charmander learned Flamethrower!" I said. Charmander growled. Seviper was burned but then it used Haze.

Charmander and Tepig couldn't see. Seviper was cornering Megan and me. I held onto Megan, protecting her. "Bri...!" cried Megan worriedly seeing I'd take any attacks.

"I'm not going to let you get hurt!" I cried. Megan's eyes were wide in shock at how much I cared about her. I couldn't even explain it myself.

"If only the haze would clear!" I growled. Vulpix suddenly walked over seeing. "Vulpix!" growled Vulpix. Vulpix leaped up and used Firespin, clearing the Haze. "It's Vulpix!" I cried.

Vulpix stood alongside Tepig and Charmander. "Ok you three!" I said. "Charmander! Use Flamethrower! Vulpix, use Firespin!" I cried.

"Char!" cried Charmander, blasting the fiery attack. "Vul!" cried Vulpix hitting Seviper with firespin. "Tepig, finish it with Flame Wheel!" cried Megan.

"Tepig!" cried Tepig, he hit Seviper directly. Seviper was knocked out. "We did it!" I cried. Suddenly, we saw someone return the Seviper.

A girl walked out with black hair up in a wavy like ponytail. She had brownish red eyes. "That was YOUR Seviper?!" asked Megan. "What of it?" asked the girl rudely.

"Hey! For your information that Seviper attacked us twice now!" I yelled. "Not my fault Seviper likes to attack random weak trainers", said the girl.

"I don't like your attitude", growled Megan. The Vulpix suddenly seemed like she knew this girl. "Oh, your still here?" snapped the girl. Vulpix flinched.

"Don't tell me! You abandoned this Vulpix?" I asked. "Yea? So? What of it? A fire type is so weak. They can't even beat a water type", snapped the girl.

"That's not true! Fire types are great against grass and ice types and they can be strong against water types if trained hard enough!" yelled Megan.

"Who do you think you are anyway?" I snapped. "Name's Jasmine, and I have no use for that Vulpix", growled Jasmine.

Vulpix shook. "But that Charmander is all right, how about a battle?" asked Jasmine. I growled. "Normally I wouldn't waste Charmander's energy on people like you, but its the least I can do to defend Vulpix!" I yelled.

Megan watched with Vulpix and Tepig. "Charmander, let's do this!" I said. "Char!" cried Charmander. "Vaporeon, let's win!" yelled Jasmine.

Vaporeon appeared. "Charmander, Quick attack!" I yelled. "Vaporeon, dodge and use Iron tail!" yelled Jasmine.

Charmander ran up but Vaporeon leaped dodging, her tail glowed bright white and she hit Charmander hard.

"Char!" cried Charmander. "Charmander, hang in there! Use Flamethrower!" I cried. "Charmander!" cried Charmander, he hit Vaporeon. "Vaporeon, cool that Chamander down with Water pulse!" yelled Jasmine.

"Vapore!" cried Vaporeon, she used the attack. The watery attack hit Charmander hard. "Charmander!" I cried worriedly. Charmander growled and still stood, stubborn.

"Charmander, try Tackle!" I cried. Charmander ran to Vaporeon. "Vaporeon, Hydro pump!" cried Jasmine.

The powerful water blast hit Charmander hard. Charmander shook growling and fainted. "Charmander!" I cried worriedly. I held him. "Charmander, you ok?" I asked. "Char...", replied Charmander weakly.

"Was that your best shot? Vaporeon, you could have done better. Return", said Jasmine. "How could you talk to your pokemon like that after you won?!" demanded Megan.

"It's how I always talk to them", growled Jasmine, she left. I growled and returned Charmander. "Vulpix, you want to join my group?" I asked.

"Vul!" replied Vulpix happily. I smiled and threw the pokeball. Vulpix went in. "Vulpix must have realized Jasmine wasn't worth waiting for", said  Megan. I nodded. "Bri, don't let her get you down. Charmander needs to be a lot stronger to defeat a water type like Vaporeon", encouraged Megan as she rubbed my shoulder.

I blushed at her touch and nodded. "Plus I got Vulpix", I smiled. "And a new rival", said Megan.
